ABOUT US

I grew up in southeastern Louisiana in a very small town and could actually walk to the Five and Dime. My favorite childhood memories are of our summer and winter vacations at my grandmother’s farm house in TN.  This is  where my love for older homes, slower pace and southern hospitality started to bloom.

After marriage, my husband and I traveled to and from Natchez for over 18 years as our get-a-way.  We loved the town, especially the old houses and buildings, the friendly people and  the slow pace of the town.

When our weekend trips were over, I dreamed about actually living in one of the older homes (antebellum) with a front porch, an old kitchen with all the characteristics that my grandmother’s house shared.  I dreamed of wearing  the hoop skirt and pantaloons  and running  a small Bed and Breakfast.

The minute I walked into Magnolia Cottage at 35 Homochitto, Natchez it was love at first sight.  The house’s style is Greek Revival but it is like a big old country farm house.

We can offer information about Natchez of where to go and what to see because we love living in Natchez.  It will be our pleasure to be your host for a visit.  See our articles published in Mississippi and Bliss Victoria magazines! And, if you you need a change from your hectic lifestyle or would like to have a romantic weekend getaway, please give Magnolia Cottage B&B a try. You will not be sorry!
